Consistency Over Perfection: Cindy’s Ongoing Wellness Journey
When people ask Cindy what keeps her consistent in her wellness journey, her answer is simple: prioritizing her health.
Over the years, Cindy has realized that it’s not about perfection. It’s about setting realistic goals, creating habits that fit her lifestyle, and being kind to herself when things don’t go as planned.
For Cindy, building a routine to wake up at 4:30 a.m. three to four times a week has been a cornerstone of her journey towards a healthier self. She chooses workouts that aren’t too long and found a gym closer to home, which has made showing up easier and staying consistent more attainable.
Finding Support in Community
For Cindy, BVC’s support has truly been a game-changer. The sense of community, accountability, and encouragement keeps her motivated—especially on the days she feels less driven.
Having access to her own healthcare provider who offers resources, along with a supportive network, means she is never alone in this process. BVC helps her stay focused, reminds her of her “why,” and celebrates her wins—big and small.
As an ambivert who leans heavily towards her introverted side, especially in groups or new settings, Cindy never thought she would thrive in a community space. But opening her mind to it has been one of the best decisions she has made.
The BVC community is about so much more than just fitness or nutrition. It’s about mindset, balance, and long-term well-being—and they truly understand that.
Starting Small and Focusing on Progress
If there’s one thing Cindy has learned, it’s this: Start small, be patient, and focus on progress—not perfection.
For her, wellness isn’t about overhauling her entire life overnight. It’s about building habits that support her well-being over time.
She recommends choosing one or two simple things to begin with:
Drinking more water each day
Moving your body a few times a week
Setting a regular bedtime
Cindy commits to these habits and watches how they create momentum. Most importantly, she doesn’t compare her journey to anyone else’s. What works for others might not work for her, and that’s okay. She listens to her body, gives herself grace, and celebrates every win—no matter how small. Showing up for herself has been the true catalyst for her transformation.
Cindy’s Personal Weight Loss Journey
Cindy has been trying to lose weight for years. Her heaviest weight was 248 lbs in 2016. In 2017, she lost about 50 lbs but found herself cycling between losing and gaining weight over the next few years.
When she started with Balanced Vitality Center (BVC) in August of last year, she weighed around 213-216 lbs. Today, she is at 190 lbs. That’s a 23-25 lb weight loss, and while she still has goals ahead, she is proud of how far she has come.
